Producer
Sinzero was founded in 2017 by Cecilia Prat and Andrés Duval. The idea originated during a trip to Europe where the couple noticed a sophisticated market for non alcoholic beverages that had not yet been developed in Chile. Prat, an agronomist with previous experience at major Chilean wineries such as Concha y Toro and Viña Bisquertt, partnered with Duval to launch the brand officially in 2018. The company was established as a pioneer in the South American market, specifically focusing on the production of premium de-alcoholized wines rather than unfermented grape juices. It remains an independent, family run operation based in the Santiago metropolitan area.
The producer sources grapes from vineyards across Chile's primary wine regions, with a significant emphasis on the Maipo Valley. The winemaking process begins with the creation of a traditional mother wine which undergoes standard fermentation to develop its intended flavor profile and structure. Following fermentation, the alcohol is removed using a specialized low temperature vacuum distillation process. This method is designed to separate the ethanol while preserving the wine's volatile aromas, natural acidity, and antioxidant properties. Winemaker Paula Botero oversees the technical production, which involved eighteen months of initial research to perfect the balance between alcohol extraction and flavor retention.
Sinzero's core portfolio includes a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Chardonnay, a Syrah based Rosé, and a Sparkling Brut. The Cabernet Sauvignon is notable for receiving four months of oak aging before the dealcoholization process, a step taken to provide the tannin structure and complexity typical of Chilean reds. The brand has achieved significant international presence, expanding its distribution from Chile to more than fourteen countries across North America, Europe, and Asia. It is recognized for its innovation in the low alcohol category, producing wines with less than 0.5% alcohol by volume and recently introducing a 0.0% version to satisfy a growing global demand for high quality, alcohol free alternatives.
