Domaine Pierre Vincent

Domaine Pierre Vincent was established in 2023 when the veteran winemaker Pierre Vincent launched his own project after nearly two decades at the forefront of Burgundian viticulture. Vincent previously served as the technical director for Domaine de la Vougeraie from 2006 to 2016 and as the general manager of the prominent Domaine Leflaive beginning in 2017. In July 2023, he partnered with Hervé Kratiroff and Eric Versini of the Solexia Group to purchase the seven hectare Domaine des Terres de Velle in Auxey-Duresses. This move allowed Vincent to transition from managing large scale operations to a smaller, hands on estate where he could apply his specific vision for terroir focused winemaking while retaining his role at Leflaive through the end of 2024.

The estate holdings comprise a mosaic of parcels across the Côte de Beaune, featuring a high proportion of old vines that often exceed 60 years of age. These vineyards include sites in Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, and Chassagne-Montrachet, along with a specific plot in the Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne. Vincent implements biodynamic farming across all his plots, maintaining the rigorous standards he set during his tenure at previous estates. In the cellar, the winemaking philosophy prioritizes transparency and natural stability. White wines undergo long, gentle pneumatic pressing and are aged through two winters to ensure depth and balance. The use of new oak is strictly controlled, typically staying under 15 percent, while alternative vessels such as ceramic eggs and sandstone jars are used to enhance the aromatic precision of the finished wines.

While white wines account for two thirds of the production, the estate also produces red wines from Pinot Noir. Signature white cuvées include the Bourgogne Blanc Les Pellans, sourced from a single 0.60 hectare parcel of vines planted in 1955 near the border of Meursault, and village level Auxey-Duresses bottlings such as Les Hautés. Other significant white wines include Meursault Premier Cru Les Charmes and Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Referts. Red wines, such as Volnay Premier Cru Le Ronceret and Monthélie Premier Cru Les Duresses, are crafted with light extraction and a percentage of whole cluster fermentation to produce a silky texture. Despite its debut only occurring with the 2023 vintage, the producer has immediately attracted attention from critics for the clarity and crystalline structure of its wines.
