Domaine Serge Dagueneau et Filles is a multi-generational estate located in the village of Saint-Andelain in the Loire Valley. The property traces its commercial winemaking history to the 1920s with La Léontine, a female vintner who managed the land and livestock during the early 20th century. Her son Émile transitioned the polycultural farm to a specialized wine operation in the 1950s, while her grandson, Serge Dagueneau, took charge in 1971 and implemented technical improvements such as thermo-regulated tanks. Today, the domaine is managed by Serge's daughter, Valérie Dagueneau, who earned a viticultural degree and worked in the United States before joining the family business. She assumed full control in 2010 following the death of her sister and co-manager, Florence. The family is related to the late Didier Dagueneau, whose own noted estate is also based in Saint-Andelain.
The estate manages 21 hectares of vineyards across the Pouilly-Fumé, Pouilly-sur-Loire, and Côtes de la Charité appellations. Holdings include well-situated parcels in Saint-Andelain characterized by flint and Kimmeridgian marl, often referred to as Terres Blanches. Valérie Dagueneau maintains High Environmental Value (HVE) Level 3 certification and employs traditional techniques such as ploughing and cover cropping to maintain soil health. In the cellar, the winemaking focuses on long lees aging in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. For the L'Odyssée cuvée, the winery uses ovoid concrete vats to promote natural lees circulation and enhance the texture of the Sauvignon Blanc. The family also practices marcottage, an ancient method of vine propagation, particularly for their oldest Chasselas plots.
The producer is best known for its Sauvignon Blanc from Pouilly-Fumé, which accounts for the majority of its production. The core range includes the Tradition cuvée and more site-specific wines like Clos des Chaudoux, which undergoes extended skin maceration. A distinctive offering in the portfolio is La Centenaire, a Pouilly-sur-Loire wine made from Chasselas vines that are over 100 years old. In addition to these white wines, the domaine produces Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Beurrot under the Côtes de la Charité geographical indication. The wines are frequently noted for their mineral character and their ability to reflect the specific flint and clay-limestone profiles of the Saint-Andelain region.
