Producer
Château Borie Neuve is a family owned wine producer located in the Minervois region of Languedoc-Roussillon. The estate has been operated by the Correia family for three generations, a lineage that began with the work of Marcel Correia. Management eventually transitioned to his sons, Philippe and Bruno, and more recently included his grandson, Benjamin. Over several decades, the family worked to consolidate and expand their holdings, transforming the property from a smaller farming operation into a 150 hectare estate. This growth has been marked by a transition from bulk production to a focus on estate bottled wines, supported by the renovation of the primary cellar and tasting facilities.
The vineyards are situated near the village of Badens in the Aude department, positioned between the historic city of Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi. The estate encompasses approximately 150 hectares of total land, with roughly 50 hectares currently planted with vines. These holdings are divided between those used for AOP Minervois wines and those designated for IGP Pays d’Oc. The terroir is characterized by clay and limestone slopes surrounded by Mediterranean scrubland, or garrigue, which contributes scents of thyme, rosemary, and lavender to the vineyard environment. Winemaker Bruno Correia manages a diverse portfolio of grape varieties, including Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, and Caladoc for red and rosé production, while Viognier, Roussanne, and Vermentino are utilized for white wines.
Château Borie Neuve has gained recognition for several specific cuvées, most notably the red blends marketed as Camille and Cuvée Benjamin. These wines are regular features in French wine publications such as the Guide Hachette des Vins. The estate is also known for its production of dry rosés, such as the Marie and Les Terrasses labels, which utilize Cinsault and Grenache to achieve a pale and aromatic style. In addition to commercial wine production, the property operates as a hospitality center with guest rooms and lodgings integrated into the winery grounds. It holds the Vignobles & Découvertes certification, reflecting its role in the regional wine tourism industry. The estate output provides technically precise wines that emphasize regional identity and accessibility.
