Aline Beauné established her eponymous domaine in 2018. Before launching this solo project, she spent fifteen years as the head winemaker at Château de la Crée in Santenay. The opportunity to create her own label arose when a long-term lease held by the Buxy cooperative on her family's vineyards came to an end. These vines, located in the village of Saint-Vallerin, had been managed by her mother since 1980, but the fruit was previously sold to the cooperative. Beauné now manages approximately six hectares of these family holdings.
The estate vineyards are situated within the Montagny appellation at the southern end of the Côte Chalonnaise. The holdings include parcels on east-facing hillsides with clay and limestone soils, some of which are characterized by large pebbles that retain heat. Beauné began transitioning the estate to organic farming upon taking over, with official certification efforts intensifying in recent years. In the cellar, the winemaking philosophy emphasizes technical precision and the use of indigenous yeasts. Aging takes place in a combination of stainless steel tanks and oak barrels, though the use of new oak is strictly limited to around ten percent to ensure the mineral character of the fruit remains prominent.
The domaine is primarily known for its white wines, specifically those from the Montagny and Montagny Premier Cru appellations. Signature bottlings include the Montagny Premier Cru Chazelle and the Premier Cru Le Clou, along with a specialty village-level wine named Reconnaissance. This specific wine is produced from a thirty-five-year-old vineyard plot located near the house of the winemaker's grandmother and is aged in a large Alsatian oak cask. Since her debut vintage, Beauné has gained a reputation for producing energetic and chiseled Chardonnay that offers a clear expression of the local terroir. Her portfolio also includes small quantities of Bourgogne Aligoté and Bourgogne Blanc, which are valued for their freshness and balance.
