STORE TASTING SCHEDULE 2008
After a slight relapse in our tasting schedule over the last 12 months, Richmond Hill is excited to come back with a bang, offering 8 nights to share with you some great wines from every reach of the globe. Our tastings are designed to be educational, unique, and, above all, fun. Our tradition is to commence the evening with a glass of bubbly (what better way?!), and finish up with hors d'oeuvres and a glass of something sweet and of the dessert wine genre. At the completion of the tasting, all the wines that were in attendance will be available for purchase. For those of you who haven't previously come along to one of our evenings, please keep in mind the positions tend to fill up pretty quickly, and the policy is of course first in, best dressed.
Tuesday February 19 - 8 PM Cabernets of the World - $75
There will be eight Cabernets tasted, ranging from Australia, USA and
France, with a few unexpected surprises thrown in! With classic Bordeaux
along with some New World Stars, this will be an incredible evening of
top class reds.
Tuesday March 4 - 8 PM Eclectic - $60
The Eclectic tasting is one of our favourites and allows us to have a
bit of fun when it comes to picking the vino. Expect the unexpected with
European and New World wines that play outside the boundaries! This evening
will include blends and varieties that may be unfamiliar to even the regular
wine drinker.
Tuesday March 18 - 8PM Shiraz/Syrah #1 - Our Favorite - $55
As this is our most popular tasting and usually the first to fill up,
we have decided to do two nights accommodating this theme in order to
give everyone a chance at these big reds. This year's line-up will include
mostly Australian but you may see other countries represented. If you're
into the bigger, bolder style of vino - this is your night!
Tuesday April 1 - 8PM Pinot Noirs of the World - $65
Pinot Noir is surely one of the world's most famous grape varieties and
has earned itself popularity and prestige all over the globe. New world
stars and classic Burgundy will be explored and enjoyed.
Tuesday April 15 - 8PM Shiraz/Syrah #2 - Our Favorite - $55
If you missed out the first time, don't despair! Our popular Shiraz/Syrah
tasting is back again.
Tuesday April 29 - 8PM Options - $80
Options is an Aussie tasting game in which you are asked to answer a series
of multiple-choice questions about the wine. This tasting is a chance
to test your wine knowledge and palate, and possibly win a bottle, if
you are up to the task.
Tuesday May 13 - 8 PM Great Whites of the World - $65
Spring is in full swing and it's time to taste some whites - this night
will be dedicated to the world's greatest. Riesling, Chardonnay and Semillon,
among others, will show you that many great white wines can have all of
the power and complexity of the best reds!
Tuesday May 27 - 8PM Australia VS France: The Grand Finale - $80
This tasting compares two of the world's leading wine producing countries
against one another. We will taste ten wines, five of the same variety,
one from each country; you will know what variety you taste but not where
it hails from. Whose vino will reign supreme!?!?
